We are in absolutely no doubt that the Goodwood Revival is the most stylish event on four wheels.
It is simply impossible for any modern car, F1 or otherwise, to compete with the vintage élan of the old school cars or the rumble of the V8 engine in Carrol Shelby’s own AC Cobra as it takes to the track – as it will in just a few short weeks.
This is pure undiluted nostalgia and we love it – the cars, the fashion, the speed, and the sound!
Last year our menswear expert, Chris Whitlock fulfilled a long-held dream and travelled to the Goodwood Revival with his father Garry, see Goodwood – Reversing Back in Time. He described it as being:
“Unforgettable from beginning to end.’
This year acclaimed fashion and portrait photographer, Uli Weber has produced a sumptuous photo-journal paying homage to glory of Goodwood to be released to coincide with the event from 12-14th September.
He has masterfully captured the essence of Goodwood Revival. His images convey the passionate celebration of a lost era when risk was worn lightly and style was king, there is glee in the grease and excitement on every page.
Clearly clothing, fashion and style are as critical to the Goodwood Revival as the cars themselves. As Chris said:
“All around people had dressed for the occasion there was a lot of old tweed and a few RAF uniforms. Of course we got our most dapper threads on too. Getting dressed up is a huge part of the fun.”
