Killer Christmas Cocktails

It goes without saying that no Christmas party is complete without a tipple or ten, and whilst you could always open a few bottles of plonk and pass round the Pringles, beyond the age of 25 a little more sophistication goes a long way.

In our last post we covered the troublesome issue of canapés and today we open the drinks cabinet and delve into the world of festive cocktails – I know it’s a dog’s life but somebody’s got to do it.

Luckily for us, A Hume has it’s own resident mixologist. He’s a little coy about his past life mixing cocktails for Dionysian city types but we persuaded James Abbott, our Marketing Mgr to open his little black book of killer cocktails in order to share his festive tipples.

Winter Inspired Old Fashioned

First up the old fashioned. A cocktail with a retro Rat Pack vibe, best sipped in dinner dress – black tie loosened, foot tapping to Dean Martin as he just gets away with slurring his way through ‘Rudi the Red nosed Reindeer.’

Sugar

Ice

Orange, or Clementine twist.

2. Add 25ml of Bourbon. Stir. Add two Ice cubes. Stir again. Add a further two ice cubes. Stir and repeat, adding a further two ice cubes, six in total. Stir.

3. Remove the vanilla pod if used. Add the large orange, or Clementine peel twist and serve.
