In the midst of London Fashion Week we caught up with Lucy McCormack, Edinburgh native and one time A Hume model. Lucy trained in millinery at Kensington and Chelsea College and now works for acclaimed millinery designer Noel Stewart.

During her time with Noel Stewart, Lucy has aided Noel in collaborations with some of the world’s biggest fashion names and is a London Fashion Week veteran.

Lucy has worked on catwalk shows with Erdem and Roskanda Ilincic, and says of the experience:

“Shows are the best. Everyone is super stressed – though Noel is a very calming person – no one’s slept for days, then you see the finished outfit – the hat being the finishing touch. And when – later, I see the pictures in magazines, it’s almost like a thank you for all the hard work.”

This year to celebrate ten years as a leading millinery designer, Noel Stewart is exhibiting throughout the shows at One Aldwych, opposite Sommerset House, the official HQ of London Fashion Week.

Lucy’s hot tips of names to watch are: Roskanda Ilincic, Holly Fulton, and Giles.

“I love being in London because it’s much more experimental and innovative, here young designers have much more of a platform and it’s really exciting to be in the middle of it all.”

More from London Fashion Week later in the week.
