Such a joy to see Bill Levett and his horse Womble (Improvise) perfectly co-ordinated in colour and stride as they rock the Trot Up at Burghley. A Hume have supported Aussie rider Bill for the past couple of years and it’s a real pleasure to dress him for the Trot Up catwalk. He’s a fantastic rider, prolific blogger – Bill’s Blog – clothes-horse and true gent.

Competition begins for Bill and Womble (Improvise) in the Dressage on Friday at 12.22pm. Bills says:

I’ve had an initial walk of the cross country course – the course is going in a different direction this year and this will make it an even more interesting test than in recent years   – there is a lot of jumping to do from start to finish and I think it will be very hard to get the time – but cross country riding is what its all about and I’m looking forward to riding around the track on Saturday.

In contrast all eyes were on Olympic and European Champion Michael Jung as he made his Burghley debut. Unfortunately Michael had not realised his fly was undone. The ground jury were kind enough to point out this minor faux pas after he had completed his first trot up. After a quick adjustment, Michael immediately presented his second horse, La Biosthetique Sam. This time, without any wardrobe hitch.
