Floors Castle, Kelso. April 4th and 5th 2016 – Our coming of age photoshoot.
Last Monday, after months of preparation, we assembled our crew and models at Floors Castle for our 18th photoshoot. Not that anyone was particularly aware this was our coming of age photoshoot. Perhaps we missed a trick there because a cake, some party hats and spot of fizz might have gone some way to brightening up a very grey day.
Wet Wet Wet
To be fair there were some patches of sky that weren’t quite as lead grey as others but you had to peer pretty hard through the smir and drizzle to spot the difference.
Even when it wasn’t raining there was so much moisture in the air it was a bit like being in a sauna – only a sauna is lovely and warm, and really quite pleasant. Whilst we can categorically say that it was far from warm in the gardens of Floors Castle on 4th and 5th of April. Chilled bones. Gnashing teeth.
Such conditions always leads to chat about exactly how many of the shoots have been wet. No one could agree. But everyone was certain there’d only ever been 2 shoots when we basked in sun.
Not a good batting average.
Makes you wonder why we persist with this shooting outside on location lark. Well, we just feel that our clothes are happiest outdoors. A country setting is their natural habitat. It’s nice to a see a lion in a zoo but seeing a lion on safari is much better.

Fairwell to Floors
Speaking of locations this was our 8th visit to Floors. The Duke and Duchess have been exceptionally kind hosts, everyone at Floors has been wonderful and from a professional point of view it’s been a great location. We’re so lucky to have a venue like this on our doorstep.
Enormous thanks to the team at Floors, Luca and the guys at The Cobbles, Kelso, Zsofia, Vicki, Lauren, Hannah, Josephine, Matt, James, Pentland Land Rover, Pentland Jaguar and all those involved at A Hume.
