At A Hume we describe ourselves as a Country Clothing retailer and for the most part we imagine our clothes are worn in the country – but that absolutely, 100% does not mean you HAVE to wear our clothes in the country.
Quite the opposite. We want to go to town. Please take our clothes out in the giddy cities of Britain and beyond.
This weekend, Saturday 18 April, is the London Tweed Run and the capital city will play host to a gathering of eccentric, urban hipsters and creative types fetched up on bicycles wearing vintage tweed. It’s a marvellous spectacle that is only the beginning of townie interest in tweed.
Our cities are filled with people wearing tweed; styled sharp and smart, hipster cool or just laid back everyday knocking about town.
Sharp and Smart
Using colour to give your outfit a bit of snap knocks the country corners right off a tweed jacket, this was a favourite trick of style icon and Fiat founder Gianni Agnelli.
This look is easier to put together than falling off a horse, except that analogy is a bit too country for this urban, laissez-faire look.
Country Boy in the City
This look says city-dweller through the week – hill-walking at the weekend, but stylish at all times.
