Menswear Retail & Bespoke Services Sales Assistant
Hours: 40 hours over 5 days including Saturdays
Start Date: October 2023 Salary: £22,000 - £25,000

Here at Humes Outfitters we currently have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, experienced individual to join our busy retail team in our menswear store - 46 The Square, Kelso.
Job Purpose
To consistently deliver the highest standards of customer service in a busy retail environment and across all aspects of our Made to Measure Tailoring and Formalwear Hire services*.
*Full training will be provided.
Core Job Duties:
Customer Service
Build relationships with customers
Confidence in advising and styling
Developing knowledge on products and brands to be able to assist with customer queries and offer advice
Responsibility for processing cash and card payments and daily cashing up
Ensuring shop floor standards are maintained to the highest level, including day to day housekeeping
Demonstrate flexibility when required within the role and provide holiday and/or sickness cover
Build relationships with customers
Confidence in advising and styling
Developing knowledge on products and brands to be able to assist with customer queries and offer advice
Made to Measure Tailoring
Organise and conduct appointments to take measurements and fulfil customer specifications
Work closely with the tailor during garment production through to completion.
Communicate with the customer on a regular basis
Constantly working towards the desired outcome of an extremely happy customer who has enjoyed a unique, superior service resulting in a bespoke item
Provide relaxed, comfortable, and memorable experience for the customer when in store for their consultations, measurement appointments and fitting
Formal Wear Hire
Organise and conduct appointments for hire requests
Take measurements
Process orders
Communicate with supplier
Communicate with customer on a regular basis to ensure a smooth process
Arrange final fitting appointments if required
Provide a relaxed environment for hire appointments and hire parties
Merchandising
Involvement in merchandising areas within the store to showcase new and existing lines. Using reports to improve sell through.
Involvement in planning window displays to maximise exposure/marketing campaigns. Plan for specific upcoming events and new collections launching.
Stock management
Conduct stocktakes
House husbandry maintained to make sure stock is stored in correct conditions
Day to Day Responsibilities
Processing cash and card payments and daily cashing up

Work together with a small team
Skills and Interests
Ability to pick up systems
Previous retail, customer service and sales experience (preferable)
Exceptional communication and 'people' skills
Desire to provide excellent customer service and a great personal shopping experience with a polite and helpful manner
Motivated with excellent attention to detail
An interest in the ‘Country way of Life’
Computer skills (preferred)
